When a 96 year-old great grandmother gets to watch the antics of young family members in Chicago as they sit down for a meal, then something akin to magic happens. This same woman proclaimed herself to be unimpressed and uninterested prior to this video visit. Afterward, she just glowed and could not say enough positive things. Now that certainly is a great endorsement for technology! How do you get over 50% of your residents to participate in an activity and only have ONE fall asleep? It's simple: Take them on a live visit to France! And even though many could not understand the language....they came to one conclusion...dogs bark in the "same language" world round! How do you get seniors to laugh, giggle, and sit around to "re-enjoy" the event? Take them on a tour of fellow-resident granddaughter's home located thousands of miles away---and then have 83 year old grandma stand on her head for granddaughter.
